Re: Device Usage Report IWS Plugin

Is there a way to force the usage plugin to update its database after making changes to the devices list in Indigo?

No. The device name is what's logged in the SQLite DB, so if you change your device name it will appear as the new name moving forward. You could back and update it yourself.

Another feature of the plugin perhaps? ;)

Undefined Page Requested

When navigating to
http://127.0.0.1:8176/usageReporter
Safari says "undefined page requested"

Just installed this today. Is the error expected because it needs to run a day under the default of displaying yesterday's usage?

How are you determining what value should be shown? Is it by: 1) knowing how long you had them on, 2) checking the Indigo Event Log?

If a command was not seen by Indigo for some reason, then using technique #1 would show a different result. But if you are checking the time by searching all ON / OFF instances in the Event Log, then I would expect the durations to match.

I'm seeing exactly the same thing. Lights which are virtually never on are showing on for 500 - 600 minutes

Restarted the server (and computer running Indigo) a few times before and after the post above.
Here's the other things I've checked / done:
    "Log Device History to SQLite..." checkbox was checked for the first time yesterday in Indigo preferences when installing this plugin,
    I use the default port settings on that page,
    Can reach the other other pages Indigo serves via the "Go" menu, for example the Devices Page loads in Safari showing this url: http://127.0.0.1:8176/controlpage?name= ... _&asList=1
    Confirmed that /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 4/IndigoSqlClient/IndigoSqlClient.conf file has "sqlite" specified as database_type, (no changes made to file, just confirmed settings)
    Can see that the "sqlite_db" file exists at /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 4/IndigoSqlClient and is modified every time a light turns on or off.

Any thoughts?

eme jota ce -

Stop and Restart the Indigo Server, let it run for about a minute, then copy/paste the contents of the Event Log window into a post for us.

And what version of Mac OS X are you running?

Move the contents of the folder usageReporter up a level. You have the folder nested one too deep inside a folder with the same name.

Ooops. :oops: That generated the report. Thanks Matt!

Of note... I'm seeing similarly very high, inaccurate, minutes in the report that others are mentioning:
    Lights that were not turned On all day show that they were On for 702 minutes;
    Some lights that show greater than 702 minutes are reported as 702 + the actual number of minutes shown in the log (so it would be accurate for some, except for the extra 702 minutes);
    Only two out of about 60 lights and appliance/lamp lincs show less than 702 minutes. Those two lights turn on and off all day and show 514 and 564 minutes, which I do not have time to verify against the log, but would guess those numbers are right.

I checked yesterday's log and see that I restarted the Indigo Server at 11:42am, is 702 minutes after midnight and when this plugin was installed, and when I first enabled the SQLite logging in Indigo's preferences. I checked a week of logs and confirmed that "SQLite" is never mentioned in prior logs. First mention of "SQLite" in any of the logs is 11:42am yesterday. Since that's 702 minutes from midnight, I'm guessing that's more than coincidence and my numbers might look accurate tomorrow. Jay's original post mentions some assumptions about light status. The enigma is why two of my lights appear accurate and under 702 minutes?

Will keep an eye on this thread for updates. Will post if tomorrow's report of today's usage looks normal.

Here are the numbers from the report:
