Access State in Trigger Action Outside of Plugin Code

How do I gain access to a state or variable from within a schedule or trigger action? For example, if I wanted to have my computer announce the contents of a device state, and I wanted to do that from an embedded scripting action within the Indigo config instead of a specific action within my plugin?

Have a look at the scripting tutorial:

The IOM has the detailed info if you want to dig further:

E.g. Device states:

Ok. I can make that work.

I don't suppose there is any way for my plugin to pass data to a trigger?

Write the data to a device state or a variable, then trigger on the change.
