Python ...

Hello,

At startup, I am always asked to authorize loading Python. It took me a while to realize that this software was related to Indigo. There after i always did.

Is there a way to auto-load Python, since on power failure it prevents me to have access to Indigo without doing it manually.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Python ...

Thanks for the thread.

But still, the reply does not seem to be sufficiently secure to use it like that.

I had previously autorized the Python.app in my firewall security settings, but that did not work. The Python message continued to show up at every startup.

After reading the thread suggested by Daval L17, can I conclude that using the command below in Terminal, would do the proper job:

Code: Select all
sudo code sign -f -s - /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/Resources/Python.app

Can Indigo support help me with that one ?

Regards.

Re: Python ...

Indigo6 uses Python 2.6, not 2.7. So signing 2.7 isn't going to help.

Re: Python ...

Hello Matt,

Like I said, I have been having problem with Indigo once in a while, until I realized that it was related to Python. Indigo loads from another user on my computer, and I didn't see that message requiring to accept Python. So once in a while the Python window was missed and Indigo didn't work. Now I am cautious on reboot ... and since then Indigo works great.

I tried to add Python as an authorized app in my firewall. But that did not change anything. The message window still requires me to manually accept Python at every boot.

Why does Indigo require Indigo ?
How can I have it to load automatically ?

I read some information in the Indigo database, but it does not seem secure enough to rely on it.

Can you help me with this one ?

Regards.

Re: Python ...

Indigo requires Python for a variety of tasks - all plugins use it, Indigo Touch communication relies on it, the RESTful API uses it.

This is an Apple bug - nothing we can do to fix it.

Re: Python ...

Don't use the built-in firewall. If you're on a private network at home, with a good router, you don't really need it. Use a tool like Little Snitch if you want more control.
