Speech GUI

Hi Guys,

This is more of a bug report, I've been trying to figure out why for weeks (more like months) my home automation system randomly said "c" every so often.

I went through all the triggers looking at the actions displayed at the bottom of the list of triggers looking for anything that said Speak "c" But i couldn't find anything. I eventually have just gone through each trigger manually (over 150) opening each one up to look closer at the action, And when you have an item doing something and get that same action to speak something it does not show up on the little overview at the bottom of the list of triggers.... (if that all makes sense)

Is this something that could be addressed, or maybe over time getting the trigger to speak something could become it's own separate item in the dropdown menu.
Now i know about it i'll create it's own item in the action list, but others may also like to know.

Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Speech GUI

Sorry, I'm not following. Can you take a screen shot of what you're talking about?

Re: Speech GUI

Sure,

Here are a few screen grabs with descriptions showing whats going on.

Its not a major issue, and i only found it as i'd managed to accidentally put a letter into the speech box by mistake.

I'm hoping that the images show up in the order i added them..... (otherwise it might not make much more sense)
(EDIT) Turns out they don't...... Look at the images from bottom to top.

Thanks,
Andrew

Separate action for speaking shows it in the trigger list.

2 actions for 1 trigger

In the trigger list, It doesn't show that the trigger is also speaking, only that it is turning a light on.

So if in my trigger i have only 1 action to turn a light on and in that same action i have the system speak something

Re: Speech GUI

Ok, so it's not actually a bug, but rather a request to make actions that also speak more visible.

Re: Speech GUI

Anyone have an idea of a way to suppress speech actions?

Speech is cool, until it wakes up someone who should have been left asleep, or startles my easily-startled wife.

Re: Speech GUI

Don't add them? (Not trying to be funny/sarcastic)

Re: Speech GUI

Indeed, that's what I do now.

But when my wife is away, I like the speech.

Re: Speech GUI

Duplicate the triggers with them both based on a variable "Wife home" as a condition?
