[ANSWERED]Remote server connection problems

I have Indigo server running on a mac mini at home. While I am away from home I normally connect to the server my home network's external IP address and an externally accessible port which is then forwarded to the port that Indigo is expecting on the mac mini.

This has been working well for ages.

However today I cannot access the server from the Indigo mac app. The strange thing is that I can access it from Indigo touch. I am using the same ip address and port number of both apps. I also can connect to the Indigo Server via telnet on the same mac as the Indigo client:
Code: Select all
telnet XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX  9008
Trying XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX...
Connected to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]
telnet> quit
Connection closed.

(Obviously I have obscured the actual IP address.)

The Mac app tries to connect: "Establishing connection with Indigo Server" and then fails with "Disconnected from Indigo Server". Looking at the traffic I can see that Indigo is sending packets out but is receiving nothing back. (via Little Snitch. And no LS is not blocking the traffic, otherwise telnet would not work). I see nothing in the servers's log (via Indigo touch) and there is nothing in the Mac's system log.

Any ideas on how to debug this further?

Thanks,
Martin

Re: Remote server connection problems

The Indigo Mac client uses a different port and protocol than Indigo Touch. By default it's port 1176.

Re: [ANSWERED]Remote server connection problems

Hmm, I think I'm confused.
1- Which port does the Indigo Server listen on for the Mac App?
2- Which port does the Indigo Server listen on for theIndigo Touch App?

8176.

Both port numbers can be changed in the Start Local Server dialog. They can't, however, be the same since the protocols are different.
