battery level from Schlage lock

I set up a new device for the lock and everything seems correct. The status shows the lock is opened or closed correctly and shows the battery status as 100%. I can open the lock or close it with the "turn on" and "turn off" buttons.
My problem is when I set up a scheduled event to check the status of the battery. I thought I'd check once a day and send an email if the battery is low. No matter what battery level I try to compare against, it always comes back true. I've tried checking if the level equals 100, then send an email. I've also tried checking if the level is not equal to 100, then send an email. I always get an email either way.
