Reflector is down?

I changed from DSl to Fios internet on 4/26 and now I get this message with Indigo Touch. I have tried restarting the server but that did not work.

Makes me think that you don't have a good DNS server entered in Network system panel. I normally use OpenDNS.com which is free and often times faster than what the ISP provides. Their DNS Servers are:

If that doesn't work, then have you tried a Mac restart? Also try restarting all of your networking equipment (including cable/dsl modem).

I tried using the opendns.com but it still says connector is down. I might be doing something wrong I am not familiar with networking.

Can you access GoPrism.com from Safari on that Mac?

Can you access other websites (Google.com) from Safari on that Mac?

I restarted the Fios router/modem and my Mac. I also am able to log into the prism site and all others.

Now that you changed the DNS server and rebooted, can you copy/paste what the Event Log is showing after an Indigo Server Startup. Try restarting Indigo, wait about 10 minutes, then copy/paste the Event Log results.

Let's do some detailed debugging here. Try the following steps and copy/paste the Terminal results for me:

1) Launch the Terminal application (inside /Applications/Utilities/)

2) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:

Hi Brian,

Got them. It is showing that Indigo is not able to establish an outgoing connection to our hosted server (in Vegas).

I believe your Mac or router/modem is blocking outgoing connection requests. By default the Mac allows all outgoing requests and most routers/modems do as well, but some of them might have outgoing requests blocked to non-standard ports numbers (Indigo is trying to use port number 2222).

Do you have any additional firewall or virus protection software installed on your Mac?

You should also be able to connect, via Safari, to your router/modem to configure it. The IP address to enter in Safari depends on which brand/model of router/modem you have, but the instructions that came with it should explain the details. Once connected check the firewall settings. You should have it enabled so all outgoing requests are allowed (especially ones on port 2222 if that is an option). The real strength of firewalls is blocking incoming connections. Blocking outgoing connections is only help, IMO, if your computer's security has already been compromised and some malicious code is already running on it. If outgoing requests are blocked then all sorts of applications will not work including remote Indigo access via GoPrism.com

I looked at my router settings and found that the Firewall was set at the highest security which did not allow outgoing connections.
